Maya Kowalcyk, E-RYT, Instructor/Studio Director
Maya has been practicing yoga since 1997 and has been teaching yoga since 2008. She has practiced a variety of styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, and vinyasa flow yoga to name a few. She is inspired by the focus on alignment that is inherent in Iyengar Yoga, with its modifications and use of props, all of which help to make the practice of yoga accessible to one and all. She has studied with Iyengar teachers like Holly Walck, Joan White, Dean Lerner, Rebecca Lerner, Patricia Walden and Manuso Manos. She enjoys a regular practice with her teacher, Holly Walck, of The Iyengar Center of the Lehigh Valley. Maya is continuously evolving and growing as a yoga student and teacher, as she believes that the practice of yoga is lifelong and is also ever-evolving. She is most happy when able to connect with her students in the classroom and share the joy that yoga has brought her in order to help them ease physical and emotional pain, learn to connect with their bodies and minds, and to find peace and stillness deep within their own hearts. Maya is also an Ayurveda Yoga Specialist and gives consultations on creating and maintaining health and balance using diet, yoga, meditation, exercise and other Ayurvedic tools.
